Well, no Apple Store job for me. Their training started today and I never received a response from them. Once again, a company I’ve been very loyal to for years burned me. They specifically said they’d contact everyone regardless of whether or not they were chosen and yet I got nothing. I’m not that upset this time, though. That store would have been hell to work in and I probably would have wanted to quit after a couple of months anyways. SO, that’s one less thing to wait for. On the bright side, “My Favorite New Disaster” passed peer review for the Rock Band Network so it’ll be available in a few days. At least something is finally going to pay off.

I went to that Apple recruiting seminar yesterday. I had absolutely no idea what to expect but I made sure not to get myself too worked up. They asked me to come so I didn’t feel like I really had to do much to impress anyone. In fact, despite their suggestion of dressing “business casual,” I decided to dress in “Scott business casual.” That includes a long-sleeve plaid shirt, dark jeans and purple chucks. Come on…it’s the freakin’ Apple store. Their uniform is a t-shirt and jeans and more often than not, there’s at least one person there with pink hair. Read the rest of this entry »

I just wrote a few days ago about sending a press kit to Vic Firth for a possible drum stick endorsement. Well let me tell you why they can suck it. Read the rest of this entry »

While I may not have a whole lot going on right now, there are a few potentially life-altering things on the horizon. Read the rest of this entry »

I kept thinking about writing a new post this past week but it was such a whirlwind week, I just never found the time. As I’m sure I let everyone know, my band opened for AC/DC at the Amway Arena last night. It was certainly a life-changing experience in some ways and I’m trying my best to focus on everything that was right about it. Unfortunately, my pessimism keeps creeping in.

megaphone’s playing a show at the BackBooth (downtown Orlando) tonight. It’s billed as “Zombie Dance.” People are encouraged to wear costumes and from what I hear, they’ll have face painters there to make everyone up like zombies. It should be a good time but I find myself at a loss for a cool costume. I was originally going to go back to the Zissou costume from a few years ago. Louis let me borrow his since I don’t have mine anymore and…well his is a fairly tight fit… Read the rest of this entry »

I’m sure I’ve told you all about my Rock Band web site. If not, it’s located at www.rockbandyourrockband.com. The point of it was originally to offer my services as a programmer for the Rock Band video game. I had a catchy title and was ready to start contacting smaller bands to start doing work for them. Then I heard through a forum that companies that were doing this and using the term “Rock Band” in their names were getting cease and desist letters from the makers of the game. Makes sense. So I decided to avoid any possible legal hassles and decided to just make the site an informative place for people who are trying to program their own Rock Band tracks. After a lengthy conversation with an almost-lawyer friend of mine who shall remain nameless (if you know me, you know who it is), I’ve found that the makers of the game could still come after me just for using the term Rock Band. To be quite honest, I’m not really sure. I used to write silly ramblings on Myspace but quickly grew out of that. Ever since then, anything I’ve written for a “blog” was in some way motivated by making money or promoting something. I guess I’ll have to get used to just writing…stuff. Thanks for stopping by. Do it again some time.
